The Mohan Yadav land deals controversy has become a major political issue in Madhya Pradesh after a media investigation reported land purchases by companies and family members linked to Chief Minister Mohan Yadav in and around Ujjain.

The report has triggered a sharp attack from the Congress, while the Bharatiya Janata Party has rejected the allegations as baseless, factually incorrect and politically motivated.

The Mohan Yadav land deals row is sensitive because several land parcels mentioned in the investigation are reportedly located near road projects, highways and areas opened for development under Ujjain’s planning framework.

Mohan Yadav Land Deals: What The Report Says

According to the investigation, the Yadav family’s land holdings in Ujjain increased over two major phases. The report said the family had around 82 acres as older or undated holdings. It then said the holdings increased to around 167 acres between 2021 and 2023, when Mohan Yadav was a minister.

The report further claimed that the holdings rose to around 335 acres during 2024–2025, after Yadav became Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh.

This is why the Mohan Yadav land deals issue has become politically important. Opposition leaders are asking whether land purchases were connected with future development information, while BJP leaders say there is no basis for such allegations.

BJP Rejects Allegations

The BJP has strongly defended Chief Minister Mohan Yadav. BJP IT cell national convener Amit Malviya said the allegations were based on insinuation and did not prove any insider advantage.

Madhya Pradesh BJP president Hemant Khandelwal also called the charges baseless and politically motivated. He said the land declared by Yadav and his wife in the 2023 election affidavit had not increased after Yadav became Chief Minister.

The BJP’s position is that relatives and companies conduct their own business activities independently and that linking every private transaction to the Chief Minister is not correct.

Company Linked To CM And Wife In Focus

A major part of the Mohan Yadav land deals debate is linked to Shri Siddhivinayak Devcons Pvt Ltd. The report said Mohan Yadav and his wife Seema hold a major stake in the company.

According to the investigation, the company purchased at least three plots measuring around 2.6 acres for Rs 1.43 crore in Ujjain’s Sawarakhedi and Kasba Ujjain between December 2024 and March 2025.

The report also said the company sold around 12 acres to Yadav’s first cousin Nilesh in September 2024. The land is reportedly being developed under a housing project.

BJP leaders have argued that Mohan Yadav had resigned as a director of the company in 2017 and was not connected with its current activities.

Land Near Road Projects

The Mohan Yadav land deals investigation also claimed that out of 168 acres purchased after Yadav became Chief Minister, around 111 acres were near new road links and highways announced by his government.

The report named areas such as Gangedi, Unhel, Jaiwantpur and Chandesara as key locations where land parcels were concentrated.

This point has become central to the political debate because infrastructure projects can increase the future value of nearby land. However, BJP leaders have said that the Ujjain Master Plan and infrastructure details were already in the public domain before Yadav became Chief Minister.

Ujjain Master Plan Angle

Another important part of the Mohan Yadav land deals row is the Ujjain Master Plan 2035. The report said CM Yadav’s son Vaibhav Yadav and Mangalmurti Infra purchased around 30 acres in Sawarakhedi in March-April 2023, weeks before the master plan was made public in May 2023.

The report said this land was in an area opened for development under the plan.

BJP leaders, however, argue that the development roadmap was not secret and that there was no privileged access after Yadav became Chief Minister.

Congress Demands Accountability

The Congress has used the Mohan Yadav land deals report to question the BJP government in Madhya Pradesh. Opposition leaders are likely to demand an investigation into whether public office, road projects or master plan information gave any private benefit.

The issue may also become part of wider political debate in the state because land, roads and urban expansion are highly sensitive topics in growing cities like Ujjain.

Madhya Pradesh Minister Says No Objection To Probe

Madhya Pradesh PWD Minister Rakesh Singh said he had no objection if someone demanded an investigation. He said that if any property had been accumulated illegally, then that should come forward.

His statement is important because it gives space for a probe while the BJP continues to reject allegations against the Chief Minister.

Why This Case Matters

The Mohan Yadav land deals issue matters because it involves questions of political transparency, land ownership, urban planning and public trust.

In fast-growing cities, land value can rise sharply after highways, road links, residential zones and commercial development are announced. This is why land purchases near future infrastructure projects often attract public attention.

At the same time, land transactions by relatives or private companies are not automatically illegal. Any serious conclusion requires verified records, official explanation and a proper investigation.

What Needs Clarification

For public trust, several questions around the Mohan Yadav land deals controversy need clear answers:

  • Who purchased which land and when?
  • Were all transactions properly declared?
  • Were the purchases linked to public development plans?
  • Was any non-public information used?
  • What role, if any, did the Chief Minister have in company decisions?
  • Did the land value rise after road or master plan announcements?
  • Should an independent probe examine the records?

These questions are important because the matter involves a sitting Chief Minister and large land transactions.

Balanced View

At this stage, the Mohan Yadav land deals matter should be treated as a political and public-accountability controversy, not as a proven case of wrongdoing.

The media investigation has raised serious questions. The BJP has denied the allegations and called them politically motivated. The final position can only become clear if official records, company documents, affidavits and government project files are examined transparently.
